The Living Room Project: In Progress

I painted the trim white and replaced the nasty old blinds with sheer panels, outfitted the room with new furniture, thanks to Mom and Ikea. I removed the door between the living room and dining room. Eventually, I'd like to paint the walls light blue and add a cabinet beneath the tv. Ultimately, I'd love to remove the odd half wall and the wall between the living room and dining room, replace the plain molding, and get a ceiling fan that works, but I have bigger problems right now, like the bathroom...

The living room is an odd U shape with attic lofts of either end and a high cathedral ceiling in the middle.
